1. Why should I have a Personal Trainer?
• Motivation
The greatest role a Personal Trainer has in helping you achieve goals is the ability to motivate you. To find what works to keep you focused on goals and push you along enough to ensure optimal results.
• Technique
Without correct technique when exercising, improvement is unlikely. Your Personal Trainer will instruct the appropriate technique for fitness and results.
• Goal Setting
A highly skilled Personal Trainer will set realistic, attainable goals with you, understanding your needs, abilities and possible limitations.
2. What should I expect when looking for a Personal Trainer?
• Qualification & Registration
To attain registration as a Personal Trainer with Fitness Australia, the fitness professional must hold Certificate III & IV in Fitness as a minimum qualification.
Additionally all registered Personal Trainers must hold a current Senior First Aid Certificate.
* Not all States of Australia require minimum certification to allow someone to operate as a Personal Trainer.
• Insurance
Superfit Boxing is insured for Public Liability and Professional Indemnity cover.
• Experience
Personal Training is much more than exercise supervision. A Personal Trainer can specialize in a variety of areas, ie: Body Building, Weight Loss, Boxing Training. If you have specific needs or preferences for the types of training you want to engage in, we would like to suitably match you with a trainer who has the ability to deliver the results you want and need.
• Personality
Working with a Personal Trainer can be a very intimate relationship and so while trainers must maintain absolute professionalism, they will differ in their personality and approach. Some people respond to an aggressive trainer and other people need a more nurturing approach. At Superfit we strive to make your fitness regime varied and FUN! Our approach is to use humor and focus on exercise that stimulates and propels you forward within reach of your goals, and we positively encourage the best from every person we train.
A Personal trainer can assist you with all of their skills and goal setting however they cannot do the work for you. Your level of commitment will ultimately determine the outcome.
3. How often should I train with a Personal Trainer?
As each client should have a very personal and specific set of needs and wants, so too are their needs for contact with their Personal Trainer. Some people need several sessions a week to stay committed and on track, other people can see the Personal Trainer only once a week, and maintain enough of their own motivation to see them through to their goals.
* For the first 12 weeks of a new training program, Superfit strongly recommends two sessions a week or more to allow you time to develop an understanding of correct technique, and also a regular routine of doing exercise.
Adaptation is occurring.
Without regular support in this crucial initial stage when making life changes, negative forces can ruin even small steps towards attaining goals.
“Winning is not normal and those who constantly win follow an abnormal path. The discipline, dedication & sacrifices are incomprehensible to those thousands standing outside, looking in, who are capable of joining the winning team, yet unwilling to pay the price of admission. Winners win in a fair effort, on a level playing field, because they deserve to win, they willingly pay their dues in full, time after time after time!”
